A Sweet and Savory Cheddar, Apple & Fig Grilled Cheese

Sharp cheddar, tart apple slices, and sweet fig jam come together in this Vermont-inspired grilled cheese. Toasted golden in the Revolution Toaster, it’s a perfectly balanced sandwich with melty, savory-sweet flavor in every bite. Equipment:

• Any Revolution Toaster
• The Toastie Press™

Ingredients:

• 2 slices white bread (sourdough recommended)
• 2 Tbsp. fig jam
• 4 thin slices cheddar cheese
• ½ apple, cored and thinly sliced (Granny Smith recommended)
• 1 tsp. softened butter (optional)

Assemble the sandwich: 

1. Spread fig jam evenly on both bread slices.
2. Layer cheddar and half of the apple slices onto one slice of bread.
3. Top with the second slice, jam side down.
4. If using butter, spread it on the outside of the bread for extra crispness.
   

Toast it in the Revolution Toastie Press:

1. Place the sandwich in the Toastie Press, close and lock the handles, and wipe away any drips.
2. Slide the press into the right slot of your Revolution Toaster (handles facing out) and toast on the Toastie Press Mode.
