Bavarian Grilled Cheese Sandwich
German-style Grilled Cheese with Ham, Swiss & Sauerkraut
When a plain ham and cheese just won’t cut it, give your lunch a Bavarian twist. This German-inspired grilled cheese layers melty Swiss, savory ham, and tangy sauerkraut inside golden toasted bread for a sandwich that’s comforting, hearty, and full of flavor. Hot and melty beats cold every time.
Equipment:
Ingredients:
- 2 slices white bread
- 3 oz. Emmentaler or Swiss cheese, sliced
- 4 slices cured ham
- ¼ cup sauerkraut, drained
Directions:
Assemble the Grilled Cheese:
- Place the two slices of bread side by side.
- Layer Swiss cheese evenly over one slice.
- Top with ham slices, followed by the sauerkraut (make sure it’s well-drained so the sandwich doesn’t get too soggy).
- Finish with the second slice of bread on top and gently press together.
Toast It in the Revolution Toastie Press:
- Place the sandwich in the Toastie Press and lock the handles. Wipe any drips.
- Insert into the right slot of your Revolution Toaster with handles facing out.
- Select Toastie Press Mode, choose your preferred doneness, and press Start.
Enjoy:
