Everything you want to know about the R180 toaster. And then some.

There’s as much technology inside as there is beauty outside.

Let's begin with a video overview. Then we'll take questions.

R180 Overview
What is the R180?
What is Revolution Cooking technology?

Revolution Cooking technology is a patented heating system that offers a faster, hotter, more consistent and precise heating experience, locking in moisture and flavor. It is faster than conventional toasters and uses less energy. Smart algorithms calculate optimal toast time based on food type, delivering toast exactly the way you like it every time, even from frozen.

What are the dimensions of the slots in the toaster?

Approximately 1” wide and 5.25” long.

What do the Fresh/Frozen/Reheat options on my toaster do?

These toasting modes allow you to select the setting that matches the food you want to toast. Fresh – For foods you keep on the counter or in the fridge. Frozen – For foods coming out of the freezer. Reheat – For foods you want to warm up a bit, without additional toasting or browning.

Where can I dispose of my toaster at the end of its life span?

Please check with your local and state recycling regulations for information and instructions.

Where can I purchase replacement parts for my toaster?

If you are experiencing any issues with your toaster, please contact us at help@revcook.com or call 888-301-REVO (7386). Please do not attempt to replace any parts of your toaster. Any such product alterations could void your warranty.

Care & Safety
How do I clean my toaster?

Your toaster will remind you when it’s time to clean the crumb tray! Please follow the steps below to clean your toaster: 1.) Remove the power plug from the power outlet and allow the toaster to cool completely before cleaning. 2.) To clean any crumbs from the toaster, remove the crumb tray by pulling it outwards. Empty and replace the crumb tray before using the toaster again. Replace the crumb tray by sliding it inwards until it locks into position. 3.) Wipe the outside of the toaster with a slightly dampened soft cloth then polish with a soft dry cloth to dry completely.

What is the crumb tray?

The crumb tray is a tray that slides into the bottom of your toaster, below the heating and cooking elements, to catch the crumbs that may fall off your food while toasting. We recommend emptying the crumb tray often to avoid build up. Failure to clean the crumb tray regularly may result in a fire hazard and damage to the toaster.

How do I empty the crumb tray?

Remove the crumb tray by pulling it outwards. Empty the tray and replace it by sliding it inwards until it locks into position. Be sure to replace the crumb tray before using the toaster again.

Why do I have to touch both the “Food” setting and the “Start” button in order to initiate toasting?

To prevent accidental activation your R180 toaster features a specific two-touch start process to ensure your safety.

My touchscreen indicates it’s “Recalibrating”. What does that mean?

To ensure that your toaster does not overheat during extensive, continuous use, the R180 is equipped with a thermal safety shut-down. The Start button will be disabled and a “Recalibrating” message will be seen on the touchscreen while your toaster cools down. Once your toaster is ready for use, the Start button will be reactivated.

Troubleshooting
My screen froze. What do I do?

Unplug your toaster, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in to reboot your toaster. After the reboot, you will need to update the date and time settings on your clock display.

What should I do if my toaster is not working?

Unplug your toaster, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in to reboot your toaster. After the reboot, you will need to update the date and time settings on your clock display. If the reboot did not work, please contact us at consumercare@revcook.com or 877-301-REVO (7386).

What should I do if the power cord on my appliance is damaged?

Stop using your toaster immediately. Carefully unplug the toaster by grasping the plug and pulling to disconnect. Do not unplug the toaster by pulling on the damaged cord. Please contact us at consumercare@revcook.com or 877-301-REVO (7386).

What do I do if my bread gets stuck in the toaster?

If food jams in the toaster slots while toasting, unplug from the outlet and wait for the toaster to cool completely before removing the food. Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in. Do not insert utensils in the toaster as they may damage heating elements as well as involve a risk of fire or electric shock.

My crumb tray is stuck. What do I do?

Unplug your toaster and allow the toaster to cool completely. If there is food in the toaster, remove it before trying to remove the crumb tray again. If you are unsuccessful in removing the crumb tray, please contact us at consumercare@revcook.com or call 888-301-REVO (7386) for assistance.

Why is my toaster creating an odor?

When first using your toaster a mild odor is normal and will subside. Before using your toaster for the first time, however, we recommend selecting Bread, Level 4, and running two toast cycles without food in the toaster to prepare it for toasting (don’t forget to first remove the cardboard inserts).

What if the lowering/rising of the toast isn’t working properly?

Your toaster carriage is equipped with auto lift and lower. If that isn’t working properly, unplug your toaster for 5 minutes and plug it back in. If it still does not work, please contact us at consumercare@revcook.com or call 888-301-REVO (7386).

Cooking
What is the best type of bread for toasting?

All types of breads, bagels, English Muffins, toaster pastries and waffles are suitable for toasting. The different moisture levels in breads do require various toasting times, which is why our smart sensor technology provides 5 food settings and 7 toasting shades to optimize toasting based on food type.

Do I toast larger, bakery-style bagels the same as pre-packaged, store-bought bagels?

No, larger bakery-style bagels require a different toasting setting for perfect results. If you typically toast these larger bagels, press the gear icon and select the “Large Bagel” setting. Note: your toaster’s default setting is optimized for pre-packaged, store-bought bagels.

Why is my bread not toasting evenly?

Uneven toasting is often due to the varying thickness of the bread or bagel. We recommend that you slice bagels and English Muffins into equal halves before toasting.

Can I toast raisin bread or other breads containing fruit?

Yes. We recommend you remove any loose fruit from the surface of the bread to avoid it falling into the toaster or sticking to the toaster carriage. The extra sugar and moisture in a fruit bread may require you to adjust the settings to avoid burning the fruit. You can always press the cancel button if needed.

Can I toast buttered breads?

No, butter and other spreads or toppings may melt or drip in the toaster, which may damage the toaster or cause a fire.

Can I toast breads with cheese?

No, cheeses and other fillings may melt or drip in the toaster, which may damage the toaster or cause a fire.

Can I use toaster bags in the toaster?

No, do not place wrapped food or toaster bags into the toaster.

Is it possible to defrost and toast items other than bread?

Yes! Your toaster will defrost and toast bread, bagels, waffles, English muffins and toaster pastries.
